- Official open data from the World Bank Group: Projects and Operations API (projects.worldbank.org), procurement notices for Bank-financed projects, the Major Contract Awards dataset (World Bank Data Catalog) and the public list of debarred firms and individuals. Collected and processed by datasets.lat (as of September 27, 2026).

What's included
- 30,313 rows on projects financed by the World Bank in 32 Latin American and Caribbean countries and 4 regional programs (OECS, Caribbean, Latin America and Latin America and the Caribbean), in a single CSV of 56 columns in Spanish.
- 21,521 contracts awarded to companies: 14,305 signed contracts with amount in USD (signed between 07/01/2019 and 09/17/2026) and 7,216 additional award notices published between 2005 and 2026.
- 8,343 procurement notices: 4,226 invitations to bid, 3,518 requests for expressions of interest, 553 general procurement notices and 38 prequalification notices.
- 1,355 projects with their context in each row: name, status, approval and closing dates, total commitment and by window (IBRD and IDA) in USD, lending instrument, sectors, themes, borrower and executing agency. 449 project rows without published procurement are added (tipo_fila = 'proyecto').
- 8,305 distinct supplier companies and US$ 9,851 million awarded across the 15,655 rows with amount in USD (US$ 9,189 million in signed contracts).
Structure
tipo_filaindicates the record type:contrato(signed contract with amount in USD),aviso_adjudicacion(award notice with no equivalent contract),aviso(bid invitation, expression of interest, general notice or prequalification) andproyecto.- Per contract or notice: contract ID and notice ID, notice type and status, contract reference, description, category (goods 10,308 awards, non-consulting services 3,290, consulting 3,289, works 3,182), procurement method, Bank review type, contracting entity, publication, bid closing, award and signing dates, supplier company with its World Bank ID and country, amount in USD, original amount and currency, contract duration and number of bidders evaluated.
- Project-level aggregates in each row: total awarded contracts, total amount awarded in USD, number of supplier companies and number of notices.
- Company-level aggregates: contracts in the dataset, total amount in USD and number of countries with contracts. 1,912 awards go to companies from a country different from the project's.
- Debarment screening: each supplier was cross-checked against the list of 1,520 firms and individuals debarred by the World Bank Group. The columns
proveedor_inhabilitado_bm, dates, reason and country match flag 4 rows for 2 companies currently on the list.

How we prepared it
- Merge of three sources by project ID: project records, awarded contracts and procurement notices. 8,618 signed contracts were completed with their award notice (same project, same contract reference and same company): publication date and award date, original currency amount, duration and bidders evaluated. Those notices are not repeated as separate rows.
- Amounts in USD: signed contracts carry the amount in USD as reported by the World Bank. In award notices,
monto_usdis only filled in when the original currency is USD; otherwise the amount remains in the original currency. IBRD and IDA commitments are published in millions and were converted to USD. - Project scope: project rows without procurement are included only for projects approved since 2010 or that are active or in preparation (dropped projects are excluded). Notices and contracts are included for all available years. For 124 projects (783 rows) without a complete public record, the project name listed in the procurement record is used.
- Deduplication: 1,581 duplicate contracts (same contract and supplier combination) and 3 duplicate notices; 222 draft or cancelled notices were omitted.
- Normalization: ISO dates, countries in Spanish with ISO2 code, statuses, categories, notice types and procurement methods translated into Spanish. Project sectors and themes are kept as published by the source (in English).
- Order: by country, project (most recent first) and date.
No personal data
- Only legal entity suppliers. Individual consultant selection awards were excluded (16,423 contracts and 18,497 notices), as well as awards to natural persons detected by name (8,442 contracts and 8,777 notices). Detection is based on legal forms and business vocabulary, so some small companies without such words in their name may have been left out.
- Notice contacts (names, emails, phone numbers or addresses) and project team leaders are not included.
Limitations
- Signed contracts with amount in USD cover from July 2019 onward; before that date, award information comes only from notices.
- The debarment list cross-check is by exact normalized legal name; it does not detect name variants.
- Regional programs have no country ISO code (
codigo_paisempty).
