Main columns

Country and office, application and registration number, mark (name), mark type (word, combined, figurative, three-dimensional, sound...), Nice classes and main class with its description in Spanish, economic sector, owner company, owner type, co-ownership, owner's country, trademarks of the same owner in the dataset and in the same office, status, application, registration, expiry and end-of-opposition-period dates, days between application and registration, agent firm (Madrid registrations), designated countries, Vienna codes, trademark image and link to the official record.

What it's for

  • B2B prospecting: detect companies launching new brands by sector and country (agencies, packaging, distribution, software).
  • Law firms and IP agents: find foreign owners entering Latin America through Madrid and trademarks in their opposition period.
  • Trademark watch and competition: see what competitors register and in which classes.
  • Market analysis: measure trademark activity by sector, country and processing time (median of 146 days in Mexico, 171 in Argentina and 671 in Brazil between application and registration).

How we prepared it

  • One record per application (national offices) or per international registration (Madrid), deduplicated by official identifier.
  • No personal data: when the owner is a natural person (158,419 trademarks) the name is left blank and tipo_titular = persona natural is set. Agents who are natural persons are not named either.
  • The company / organization / natural person classification is based on the legal form and keywords in the name (S.A., S.A.S., S.A.C., LTDA, S.A. de C.V., INC, GMBH, foundation, university...).
  • pais_titular comes from the official record for Madrid trademarks; for national offices it is estimated from the owner's legal form (the origen_pais_titular column indicates the origin). Foreign legal forms are flagged as foreign owners.
  • sector groups the main Nice class (the first one listed in the application) into 13 sectors in Spanish. titular_num_marcas counts the trademarks of the same owner across the whole dataset.
  • The detailed description of goods and services is only available for part of the Madrid registrations; for the rest, the Nice class description is included.
  • Dates in ISO format (YYYY-MM-DD) and numbers as numbers.

If you purchase, you get the updates we publish for free, which will extend the monthly coverage of each national office.
